In recent years, car LED bulbs and HID car xenon lights have become increasingly popular. In fact, most new cars today use LED or xenon headlights.
Light bulbs were invented in the 1960s, but their use in automotive lighting was much later. LEDs or Light Emitting Diodes are very small but powerful lights. They come in a variety of colors, which makes them very versatile. LEDs are used in everything from traffic lights to decorative holiday lights.
LED headlights have other advantages as well. They use less electricity and produce a brighter light than halogen bulbs. Even compared to xenon HID bulbs, LEDs come out on top in many ways. LED bulbs last longer than xenon HID bulbs and consume less power.
Xenon HID bulbs are named after the xenon gas inside the bulb. Unlike halogen bulbs, which contain a filament that heats and produces light, xenon HID bulbs use xenon gas and an electrical charge to produce bright white light. Many drivers prefer xenon HID bulbs because of the lower color temperature of the light they emit. A normal HID lamp consists of three main parts - a ballast, an igniter, and a xenon bulb.
